


Bad-Guy Bar: While not all Wolves are villains, they usually are and they fill a role that is generally antagonistic to the Girl and Woodsman, and there is a bar that exclusively serves Wolves.However, a Storyteller's powers can be escaped at least temporarily in certain crevices "beneath" the Tale itself. Author Powers: "Storytellers" have a nasty habit of railroading characters and can alter the Tale and its inhabitants, including those from outside, to suit their whims.The Girl: Whether Little Dead Riding Hood or Little Red Fighting Hood, the Girl is the main character of the story and has a journey through the woods often but not always to deliver something to an optional Grandmother character.The Fable in question is centered around three character archetypes:

Archetypal Character: The game revolves around variations on Little Red Riding Hood, which is considered a "Fable", with the individual stories being "Tales".Appropriate given the importance of the Woodsman character in the Fable the story centers around. An Axe to Grind: The standard melee weapon of the game for most classes is the axe.Girl goes to Grandma's house or on another simple journey, Girl meets Wolf, Wolf attacks/threatens Girl, Girl is rescued/avenged by Woodsman, everyone learns a heavy-handed lesson about morality. The broad structure of the central Little Red Riding Hood Tale is given as there's a Girl, a Wolf, and a Woodsman. An Aesop: In-Universe, the existence of Aesops is an established part of the structure of Tales.
